Washington Husky Preview - Special Teams

BeaverFootball.com takes a look at the Husky players on special teams.

Junior Evan Knudson (6-0, 175) started the season as the Dawgs starter, but missed both of his field goal attempts versus Fresno State. Redshirt freshman Michael Braunstein (5-6, 180) made his one attempt against FSU and has taken over the kicking duties since.

Braunstein is 3 of 4 on field goals with his only miss being beyond the forty yard line.

Sophomore Sean Douglas (6-1, 210) has a 39.4 punt average and has landed nine of his kicks inside the 20 yard line. Two of his kicks have been blocked this year.

Kick/Punt Return
Charles Fredrick would normally handled kick return duties, but his hamstring injury has sidelined him. Redshirt freshman Anthony Russo (5-11, 180) has taken over returning duties fielding nine kicks for a 19.0 yard average. Russo also handles punt return duties returning four for a 2.5 average. Sophomore Sonny Shackelford (6-2, 180) will handle kickoff duties in the absence of Fredrick.
