Last week...
Lost to #7 California at home 38-0
No. 7 California and its highly rated offense lived up to its billing and its defense pitched a shutout to give Arizona a sixth consecutive loss Saturday, 38-0, before a crowd of 52,049 on UA's Family Weekend.

The Bears accumulated 424 yards led by quarterback Aaron Rogers, receiver Geoff McArthur and tailback J.J. Arrrington and their defense held Arizona to a missed field goal attempt and only one excursion into the red zone...more.

Last time UA and OSU met...
Nov. 1, 2003, Oregon State 52, Arizona 23
Derek Anderson threw for 308 yards and four touchdowns and Steven Jackson caught a TD pass and ran for three more scores in Oregon State's 52-23 victory over Arizona on Saturday. Jackson, the Pac-10's leading rusher, ran for 107 yards on 28 carries, his 17th career 100-yard game. It was his first career four-touchdown game. recap | box score

Last time UA and OSU met in Arizona Stadium...
Nov. 11, 2000, No. 10 Oregon State 33, Arizona 9
Incredible as it may seem, Oregon State is 9-1 and might be the best team in the Pac-10. In a season that just keeps getting better, the 10th-ranked Beavers won at Arizona for the first time, keeping their Rose Bowl hopes alive with a 33-9 victory Saturday night. Jonathan Smith completed 17 of 31 passes for 231 yards and a touchdown and the Beavers (9-1, 6-1 Pac-10) held Arizona (5-5, 3-4) to three field goals by Sean Keel. recap | box score

Series history (Arizona leads 19-7-1)...
The Beavers have won five straight, the longest current win streak vs. a Pac-10 member. The last four games OSU has won by an average score of 40-10. Arizona has visited Corvallis in each of the last three seasons.  This is the first time since 2000 that OSU will pay a visit to Tucson.  Arizona is 11-1 against Oregon State in Arizona Stadium.  Oregon State was its first ever game in Tucson in 2000.  In the last three games the Beavers have posted 1,298 yards of total offense while putting up 128 points and yielding just 29.

Arizona connections...
Oregon State cornerbacks coach Nigel Burton and Arizona offensive coordinator Mike Canales and offensive line coach Eric Wolford were on
the same staff at South Florida in the late 1990s.  Safety Eric Anderson, center Brent Bridges, linebacker Chaz Scott, and defensive tackles Ben Siegert all played their high school ball in Arizona.

Players to watch:

QB Richard Kovalcheck - just his second career start...has used the offense more efficiently than Kris Heavner, but still not completely comfortable in the pocket...not particularly mobile...see Grool's keys to the game

RB Mike Bell - looking for his first breakout game of the season...dangerous in the open field...see Grool's keys to the game

The safeties - Darrell Brooks and Lamon Means have a reputation for delivering hard hits...look for them to try and punish Mike Hass, Marcel Love, or anyone else who dares to venture over the middle.
