Kick/Punt Return
The group has been a bit of musical chairs lately. The Cats started the year with sure handed Ryan Eidson as the punt returner, but went with Fontenot against Cal. They went with a one-man kick off return formation for most of the year, but placed two returners back against Cal. Steptoe is always on the return and has been joined by Bell, Dennard and Jefferson.

Eidson averaged just 10.6 yards a return, and Fontenot has been no better at 9.0 a return. Steptoe has a nice 22.5 yards a return average.

Punter
Danny Baugher has been solid. He averages 41.5 yards a boot and has placed 10 of his 44 kicks inside the 20. The Cats have used several unusual formations on punts, including a look that had the line spread out a yard apart from each other, while three players formed a wall right in front of the punter. Baugher seemed uncomfortable with the formation, but still averaged over 40 yards a kick against Cal.

Place-kicker
Nick Folk has a decent leg, but isn't particularly consistent. He missed the game winner against Wisconsin, but was forced to kick a 47-yarder in a rainstorm on a soaked field. For the season he is a respectable 5-8 after not making a field goal last year.
