CB joins the program

Mike Riley added another defensive back to the 2005 recruiting class Monday when he announced the signing of cornerback Tim Clark.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound player hails from Cathedral High School in Los Angeles where he played on both sides of the ball. As a cornerback he grabbed 32 tackles and one interception.

On the offensive side of the ball, he carried the ball 58 times for 513 yards and four touchdowns while adding a pair of touchdowns and a team leading 129 yards through the air.

Clark's best performance of the season offensively came against Bassett when he ran for 223 yards on 16 carries, including a season long 67-yard jaunt. The California native played behind all-world running back Ricardo Galvez who racked up 2,353 yards and 25 touchdowns as a junior.

As a senior Clark was a first team All-Del Rey League selection on offense and defense. He earned honorable mention on the All-CIF Southern Section team as a cornerback.

Clark also ran track for the Phantoms, competing in the 200 meters and on the relay teams. He was the league champion in the 200 as a junior.
