  • Sabino High School running backs Brooks Reed and Glyndon Bolasky will be blocking for one another this season, and maybe again as teammates in college.

    The pair - among the state's top five recruits - should have plenty of options after they try to carry the Sabercats into the playoffs for their senior season...more from the Tucson Citizen.  (NOTE: Both players are being recruited by Oregon State.)

  • Another Westlake Village area athlete who could be offered a Division I scholarship in football, and possibly baseball, is Westlake High's Jeff Rapoport...more from (NOTE: Beavs are interested this two-sport athlete.)



  • From the Statesman Journal:
    Oregon State is putting its allotment of away-game football tickets on sale to the general public Monday.

    Tickets to the Sept. 17 game at Louisville, the Oct. 15 game at California and the Oct. 22 game at UCLA will be available for $32 each. Tickets for the Nov. 5 game at Washington will be $55 each.

    Tickets to the Nov. 19 Civil War game in Eugene will be available only to current season ticket holders for $55 each with a limit of two per order.

    The ticket office opens at 8:30 a.m. and may be purchased in person or by calling (800) GO BEAVS.

  • Lake Oswego senior-to-be Gabe Miller has become one of Oregon's most sought-after football recruits.

    The 6-foot-4, 230-pound two-way starter who could become the state's top recruit already has received scholarship offers from Oregon and Oregon State and appears to have several other suitors lining up. Washington, Colorado and Utah are each heavily recruiting Miller, and Michigan showed strong interest early in the summer...more from the Oregonian.
