Junior To Watch: Washington OL Josh Tschirgi

One of the top offensive lineman in the Northwest next year will be Vancouver's (Wash.) Skyview Josh Tschirgi. With his size and athleticism, Tschirgi is a player who could garner some early scholarship interest come May.

At 6-4, 280 pounds, Tschirgi has a very solid frame and will only get stronger as he continues to work hard in the weight room. He's an excellent all around athlete and has started on the schools baseball and basketball teams since his sophomore year.

Tschirgi is very impressive on film. He's explosive coming off the ball and has great feet. His drive blocking ability as well as his ability to get out and lead on sweeps is excellent. With his great technique and balance, he's also an outstanding pass blocker and doesn't appear to have much of a weakness on the football field.

Tschirgi earned All-League honors last season and he's hearing from just about every school on the West Coast right now.

"Most of the Pac 10 along with schools like San Diego State, Fresno State and a few others are showing interest," Tschirgi said. "Washington is my top school right now, I've liked them for a long time. Oregon, Oregon State, Washington State and Stanford are the other schools I like a lot.

"Academics are the most important thing for me followed by a strong football program. I'll either major in Business or Education."

Tschirgi is currently carrying a 3.7 GPA and he has already scored an 1170 on the SAT. He'll attend summer camps at Washington and Oregon as well as the Nike Camp in Eugene.
