Last time Arizona State and Oregon State met...
Sept. 25, 2004 in Tempe - Arizona State 27, Oregon State 14
Arizona State and Oregon State opened the Conference season at hot Tempe with the No. 22-ranked Sun Devils scoring a 27-14 victory. A 5-0 advantage in turnovers had much to do with ASU's victory as OLB Jamar Williams intercepted two passes and the Devils recovered three fumbles, two of the recoveries made by DT Jordan Hill Hill. Oregon State had drives that ended in turnovers at the Sun Devils’ 15, 31, and essentially the 1-yard lines.

The Beavers outgained ASU 365-249, but the turnovers and penalties undermined the Beavers' effort. OSU QB Derek Anderson put the ball in the air 53 times for 384 yards and Beaver WR Mike Hass caught a school-record 14 passes for 172 yards. The Sun Devils limited the Beavers to minus-10 yards rushing.

Last time Arizona State played in Corvallis...
Sept. 27, 2003 - Oregon State 45, Arizona State 17
The Beavers scored a 45-17 victory over the Sun Devils Sept. 27, 2003 -- matching the most points ever scored in the series -- ASU has twice scored 45 (1979, ‘84). The victory snapped ASU’s seven-game winning streak in the series.

Freshman cornerback Brandon Browner grabbed three interceptions and Derek Anderson threw for 246 yards and two touchdowns as Oregon State jumped out to a 24-7 halftime lead and coasted to a victory over No. 24 Arizona State. The Beavers relied on strong defensive play that forced six ASU turnovers. Steven Jackson ran for over 100 yards for the ninth time in 10 games while James Newson had his fourth consecutive 100-yard game.

"Definitely a team win," OSU linebacker Richard Seigler said after the victory. "We were clicking on all cylinders tonight, offense, defense and special teams. Our coaches had us well prepared for everything Arizona State threw at us. It's a great day to be a Beaver."
