One of the top players in California is quarterback Dennis Dixon from San Leandro High School. Dixon, 6-4 and 190 pounds, threw for over 1,700 yards and 22 touchdown passes as a junior. "I have a great passion for the game," said Dixon. "I am willing to do anything to help my team win. I can be a pocket passer or a guy that makes plays on the ground. I have good wheels and quickness. Like I said, I do what I need to do."
So far, Dixon has collected scholarship offers from California, UCLA, Oregon State, LSU, Washington and USC.
"To tell you the truth, I am wide open and will really wait until this season to starting thinking about who I will visit. I know I like the teams that have offered me and I know there will be more.
"I am looking at coaching staffs, the relationship and stability of each staff and the competition."
Dixon is also a standout in baseball and basketball. He may have a chance to further his baseball career. Dixon plays in the outfield. He will attend the Nike Camp at Stanford this weekend.
