Scott Cutley, 6-5 JR PF Los Angeles (Calif.) Westchester, is a very skilled, if somewhat undersized, power forward. Cutley has the ability to step outside and shoot it ok, but he's very effective inside with terrific footwork and post moves. How well his game will translate to the next level is open to debate, but there's no question he has a lot of ability and he plays with great intensity.
We spoke with Scott last Saturday and he told us that Loyola Marymount, Oregon and Oregon St. all came out to Westchester to speak with him during the contact period. In additon to those schools, Cutley says he's also hearing from Colorado St., Tulsa, Pepperdine, USC and Oklahoma St.
When we asked Cutley if he had any leaders, he said, "I like Colorado St., Oregon St. and Pepperdine right now." He told us that going away from home will not be a problem for him.
Cutley did say that playing time will be an issue. "I'd like to be able to make an immediate impact," Cutley said. He went on to say that he could see himself going to a mid-major, as opposed to a high major, if it meant playing time right away.
Cutley hasn't scheduled any trips yet, but told us that both Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount are trying to arrange a visit.
He said his GPA is 2.7 and he'll take the SAT in June.
