Recruiting class shaken up

The 2006 recruiting class took a hit Wednesday as highly coveted Marquez Herrod apparently changed his verbal from Oregon State to Colorado.

According to BuffaloSportsNews.net, Herrod verbaled to Dan Hawkins and CU after an in-home visit with the staff this week.  He officially visited Boulder last weekend and when his good friend Justin Nonu verbaled to Colorado late Wednesday night Herrod said he would like to join his friend at Colorado.

Many considered Herrod the jewel of Oregon State's 2006 recruiting class.  He was slated to play defensive end for the Beavers, a position OSU needed to urgently fill.

In other news, long time verbal Alfred Rowe took an official visit to Oregon last weekend.  There is no official word if Rowe received an offer from the Ducks or not, but word on the street is he is strongly considering attending college in Eugene if the UO offers.  Rowe was scheduled to play safety at Oregon State.  He is being recruited as a linebacker by Oregon.
