Anthony Brown, 6-7 JR PF Sacramento (Calif.) Kennedy, is also a football prospect and he's being recruited for both sports. Brown has a great body, moves fairly well and can face-up and shoot out to fifteen feet.
We spoke with him in Fresno and he told us that New Mexico, Boise St. and Oregon St. came to his high school during the contact period. Additionally, Brown mentioned Oregon, Cal, Stanford, UCLA, Northridge, UC Riverside and Colorado St. as schools that have been sending him mail.
Brown took an unofficial trip to Oregon St. earlier this year. "It was a nice campus," Brown said. "Real quiet -- I liked it."
Brown said he does have a geographical preference. "I want to stay in the west, unless there's an opportunity for major time at a school in the east," Brown said. Brown also mentioned academics and diversity in a school as factors he would consider.
We asked if he had a preference between basketball and football and Brown replied, "I like them both. A school that lets me play both will have an advantage."
Brown told us his GPA is 2.8 and he'll take the SAT in June.
