Nike Camp #2 for Quarterback T.C Ostrander

T.C Ostrander, a 6-3, 186 pound quarterback from Menlo-Atherton (Calif.) caught a lot of people by surprise at the Nike Camp in Palo Alto where he outhrew everyone at the camp in what was a loaded field of quality quarterbacks. Ostrander will return to the Nike Camp this weekend in Eugene and will not be a sleeper any more.

Ostrander wasn't even sure if he would be able to make the camp because of the baseball playoffs but when his team lost earlier in the week, he was all set to go. The talented signal caller is very skilled as has been coached by one of the nation's best quarterback coaches, Roger Theder. Theder trained Trent Edwards, Drew Olson and Marc Guillon last year and Ostrander looks very similar in terms of his mechanics. He has good feet, a quick release and throws a very accurate and catchable ball. While some of the other quarterbacks struggled with their consistency at the Nike Camp, Ostrander was on the money all day long and showed that he deserves to be mentioned as not just one of the best quarterbacks on the West but nationally as well.

As a junior, Ostrander completed 80-143 passes for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns in just seven games. He also averaged 46 yards per punt as the teams kicker and boasts an 85 MPH fastball in baseball. Recruiting attention is coming in from all over, but Oregon State remains his only scholarship offer.

"T.C is going to several camps over the summer but we're not even worried about the offers right now," Clint Ostrander, T.C's father said. "We're happy with the offer from Oregon State and feel more will come along the way."

Schools that Ostrander will camp with are Cal, Stanford, Virginia, Colorado, Washington, Oregon and Northwestern. His top schools at this time are Virginia, Stanford, Oregon, Washington, Oregon State and Kansas State. Academically, Ostrander is off the charts with a 4.0 GPA and a 1460 on the SAT.
