How did you become a Beaver fan?
I used to be on the student member of the Oregon State Board of Higher Education. When I first visited the campus for our monthly meetings, I fell in love with the place. Later, when I wanted to attend graduate school, OSU was the first place I applied. Now I'm class of '91. Went to every football and basketball game in my 2+ years.

How long have you been a Beaver fan?
I started to pay attention to OSU basketball teams during the early 80's. I was really impressed when the team earned a #1 ranking. Obviously, I miss those days.

Did you attend OSU? If so, what years? Any good stories?
Class of '91. I attended from 1989-91 in graduate school. I had the opportunity to play in a pick up basketball game in the late spring with Gary Payton and Will Brantley. I realized very quickly why I was never recruited. Both of those guys were really great and actually pretty easy to get to know.

What is your favorite memory as a Beaver fan?
OSU beats USC by 4 or 5 points in overtime - Gary Payton scores 58 and comes within 3 points of the NCAA single game record of 61 (Lew Alcindor) - - unbelievable.

What is you least favorite/most humorous moment as a Beaver fan?
Having USC come to town in the early 90's and hanging 49 on us in 3 quarters, when we didn't even get the ball in the red zone at all. Adding insult to injury was USC keeping their starters in the whole game just to put the game over 50 was really low. They eventually scored 55 that game. USC is the only program in the Pac-10 that I don't respect at all.

Do you prefer the old Benny or the new Benny?
Don't really care

Reser or Parker?
I don't really care about the name. It would be nice to upgrade/expand the stadium. Beaver fans are loud, but there's not enough of them to give the guys a solid home field advantage.

Wishbone or Spread?
Is this a serious question? The spread offense is more fun to watch and has produced more wins.

Orange pants or black pants?
Men in Black works really well for me.

A win in the Civil war or a bowl game?
I think a bowl win is more productive long term for the program. Obviously, any Beaver fan wants to beat the Ducks. Having lived in 4 states on both coasts, I don't think many people outside of the state really view the Civil War as that important. Most of our recruiting is in CA and you have to be visible to recruits.

Washington Huskies or Oregon Ducks?
It would be great to destroy both in the same year.

Although we have rivalries with schools in the Pacific Nortwest, the fans are pretty respectful of each other overall. The only problems I've ever had with fan issues was at the USC game, although I've heard that Fresno State fans are worse.

Mike Parker or Darrell Aune?
I actually like listening to both. Mike Parker certainly had a lot more to be excited about.

Who is your favorite all-time OSU player? Any sport.
Again, I think Payton was the most heralded OSU player in my recollection. He is also a very nice guy.

List your top 3 Beaver football players.
There are quite a few. I really like the heart that Simonton displayed and I respect him a great deal. I feel bad for him about being 29 yards short.

I have a good friend that I've kept in touch with in Lavance Northington - he and I talked about beating the Huskies up in Seattle in the mid 80's. I also liked watching Reggie Tongue as well. He's been pretty successful in the pros.

List your top 3 Beaver basketball players.
AC Green, Gary Payton and Steve Johnson. I would throw in Brent Barry as well.

Who are your favorite coaches? Any sport.
Dennis Erickson and Ralph Miller, winning makes you popular.
