Short recap - QB Matt Moore looked sharp completing 7 of 10 passes for 105 yards and one touchdown. Every quarterback on the roster received snaps as Sean Canfield completed 9 of 16 for 122 yards and one interception.
WR Sammie Stroughter, Moore's favorite target, and Shane Morales, Canfiled's reciever of choice, led the receivers with four grabs each for 65 and 56 yards, respectively. WR Anthony Wheat-Brown caught a 39-yard touchdown from Moore on the third series of the day.
RB Yvenson Bernard and TE Joe Newton were held out due to percautionary measures.
“I just felt it was good to keep both out,” Riley said. “Joe is the only returning healthy veteran at tight end (Jason Vandiver recovering from shoulder surgery) and he has been taking a lot of snaps in practice. Yvenson has practiced a lot and he just doesn’t need the extra hits right now.”
In Bernard's abscence Patrick Fuller and Clinton Polk took the buk of the carries. Fuller ran for 27 yards on 13 carries while Polk added 38 yards on 10 carries and one 17-yard touchdown run.
Defensively, CB Keenan Lewis continued his high level of play essentially locking down one side of the field. DT Curtis Coker and Ben Siegert clogged up the middle nicely. LB Slade Norris returned a Brennan Sim pass for a 59-yard touchdown to conclude the scrimmage.
