Three Beavers Selected to Play in Shrine Game

Three Oregon State defensive players have been selected to play in the 78th annual East-West Shrine game, January 11 at Pac Bell Park in San Francisco.

Senior linebacker Nick Barnett, senior defensive end Eric Manning, and senior cornerback Dennis Weathersby were selected to participate in the football game to benefit the Shriners hospital for children.

The annual classic began in 1925 and is considered one of the top all-star games in the country.

The three Beavers will be coached by Washington State's Mike Price and will be joined by Arizona's Lance Briggs, UCLA's Nate Fikse, Rickey Manning Jr., and Mike Saffer, Washington State's Jason Gesser, Derrick Roche, and Marcus Trufant, Oregon's Keenan Howry and David Moretti, Stanford's Matt Leonard and Casey Moore, and USC's Carson Palmer and Troy Polamalu.

The Beavers, Bruins, and Cougars each have three members making up a third of the West's squad.
