ANOTHER VERBAL: DT will sign today

ONE IN THE Beaver orbit visited Oregon State this past weekend and so much liked what he saw that by the time he left Corvallis, he had given his oral pledge to the Beavs. The 6-3, 292-pound defensive tackle out of storied Snow College in Utah not only has three to play two, he's also a mid-year transfer -- he can sign as early as today, enroll in January and lace 'em up for OSU's spring session.

Sioeli Nau knew early on during his trip to Corvallis that he had found the right fit and would be donning the orange and black this coming season.

"He did commit, he called our head coach on Saturday night and let him now that he was going there," said Snow assistant coach Tyler Hughes.

Nau chose Oregon State over offers from Boise State and Utah State, as well as significant interest from Utah, Colorado and UNLV.

"He's a good pickup for them," said Hughes. "He has outstanding character first off, which allows him to be a very good player -- he's a very tough competitor. He's got great size and great strength, and he really worked as hard as anybody in our program to get ready for his sophomore year."

Nau caved in the pocket this season to the tune of 29 tackles from his nose guard spot, including 1.5 sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss for No. 2 nationally rated Snow.

Nau earlier this season verballed to Utah State but the Oregon State offer and Corvallis experience changed his mind, and Nau will today send in his signed Letter of Intent to Oregon State later today.

"He's a great player, I think he'll be a great fit for them," said Hughes.
