In-state WR has new offer, OSU visit date set

AARON PFLUGRAD tripped to Arizona State this past weekend and before he left Tempe, received another scholarship offer -- his third from the Pac-10. Named first team all-state at wide receiver at Eugene's Sheldon High in 2006, Pflugrad has two more trips scheduled before he plans on making his decision. His last official visit will be to Oregon State.

Pflugrad will take his official visit to Oregon State the last weekend of January.

"I talked with Oregon State and I'm going to go there on Jan. 27 now, and so I'll go to Oregon on the 20th," said Pflugrad.

Previously offered by Oregon State and UO, the 5-10, 165-pound receiver received his third Pac-10 offer from Dennis Erickson during his official visit to Arizona State this past weekend.

"I had a pretty good trip, and they offered me," said Pflugrad, who lived in the Tempe area from 1995-2001. "It was great, I felt like I was going back home. I didn't verbal. Coach Erickson said they'd love to have me but he also knows I come from a pretty tight family and it might be hard for them to have me leave. He wanted me to sit down and talk it over with them and if I felt the need to take those trips to Oregon and Oregon State, he'd give me that time to do that and make my decision."

Pflugrad said between his top three of Oregon State, ASU and Oregon, one school is standing slightly above the rest at this point.

"I would just like to say the Arizona State went really great and I can really see myself playing there," said Pflugrad. "The only drawback would be it would be quite a ways away from my family. ASU has a slight lead, but that might also be because I've taken my visit there. After I take my visits to Oregon and Oregon State, it might change."

Pflugrad put together a breakout senior year at Sheldon, grabbing 60 receptions and 11 TDs along with appx. 974 receiving yards.

Pflugrad clocks a legit 4.52 in the 40 and was named MVP for both Sheldon's football and track teams after arriving at the school just this past March.
