Three formers Beavers to play in NFL Europe
DT Alvin Smith will be suiting up for the AMSTERDAM ADMIRALS, OT Doug Nienhuis for the FRANKFURT GALAXY and DT Sir Henry Anderson for the HAMBURG SEA DEVILS.

The season starts on Saturday, April 14 with many of the games televised on Fox.

Piscitelli stock rising
Sabby Piscitelli turned in a good showing at the NFL combine running one of the op 40 times while placing high in several other tests. Piscitelli thinks he can do even better at the OSU pro day on March 16 in Corvallis.

"People are already shocked at how fast I can run for my size, but I feel like I have a little more to prove,'' Piscitelli told the Oregonian. "Nobody expected me to go 4.4 (at 225 pounds) but I expected to go even faster.'' ... read more | Thread on message board

Beavs go 2-1; improved record to 13-3
Oregon State was limited to five hits as the Beavers were beaten by Texas A&M 5-2 at Olsen Field on the opening day of the 2007 Domino’s Pizza Aggie Baseball Classic. The 15th-ranked Beavers (11-3) fell behind by three runs early, then got back within a run before the Aggies (13-1) pushed across a pair of runs in the sixth inning en route to their 12th straight win, full recap.

The Beavers got back to their winning ways a day later against New Mexico winning 6-2. Drew George went 4-for-5 with a double, one run batted in, two runs scored and a stolen base for Oregon State. Mike Stutes pitched into the seventh inning to earn the win for OSU (12-3 overall).

In the third game of the tournament, Daniel Turpen pitched 8 1/3 scoreless innings for Oregon State and Mike Lissman delivered a pair of run-scoring doubles as the 15th-ranked Beavers beat St. Louis 2-0 on Sunday afternoon. Turpen and Mark Grbavac combined to pitch a five-hitter for OSU (13-3 overall).

Oregon State concludes the tournament against host Texas A&M on Monday at 12:30 p.m. PST. The game can be heard live on KEJO-AM (1240) in the Corvallis area and KUIK-AM (1360) in the Portland area, and via subscription on the internet at
