- Short recap -

On Day 11 in Corvallis, the quarterbacks continue to get even reps in the battle to decide a starter between Lyle Moevao and Sean Canfield. On Tuesday, the hottest day of fall camp, but even then, the mercury remained in the 80s at the Tommy Prothro Complex.

"No real personnel comings and goings of note" over the last couple of days, with the fourth double-day of the camp session coming tomorrow.

WR Sammie Stroughter (personal issues) misses his seventh day of training camp and incoming Beaver freshman DE Kyle Bell will redshirt after having surgery next week on his shoulder. Clinton Polk was watching practice but Riley does not comment on if he'll return.

The James Rodgers recruiting backstory is about relationships, with Danny Langsdorf getting a tip and picking up a potential gem. (also see the BF.C story from back on Letter of Intent Day for more insight)

It's still Linebacker U but now recruiting has surpassed development, says Gazette Times scribe Cliff Kirkpatrick, with seven, count 'em seven, capable starting linebackers for three positions in the Beavs' 4-3 defense. .

- Riley says -

"We need sound blocking and great coverage on kickoffs this year. There will be more opportunities on both sides of the ball – this is an even more important facet of the game now."
