SoCal DL Sets First Two Visits

Brandon Mebane, 6-1, 260 pound defensive lineman from Los Angeles (Calif.) Crenshaw has set up his first two trips, both Pac-10 schools, and is close on a third.

"I'll be visiting Cal (Nov. 22) and Washington (Dec. 6)," Mebane said. "I'm setting a trip to Oregon right now and I'm still trying to figure out where my last two trips will be.

"Things have been pretty crazy around here. I received two more scholarship offers this weeek, Oregon State and UNLV and I now have eight offers. I can't believe it but things are going really well."

Actually we can beleive it. The first time we popped Mebane's tape in the VCR last summer, it was obvious he was a special player. He's just so much quicker and more athletic than any other defensive lineman in the West region. He's already a rock solid 260 pounds and as he continues to get bigger and stronger, he'll be a major impact player at the college level.

Mebane's eight offers are from Oregon, Cal, USC, Washington, Arizona, UCLA, UNLV and Oregon State. His last two trips will likely come from that group.
