Burnley, 6-0, 175 pounds is a very talented running back with excellent speed. He rushed for just over 2,000 yards and scored 29 touchdowns to earn All-League and All-CIF honors as a junior. In six games this season, the running back has rushed for 880 yards and 17 touchdowns.
"I missed one game but I'm still ahead of my pace from last year," Burnley said. "We're only 4-3 right now which is not Valencia football. We've only lost two games all season the past two years so having three losses is a big deal but we still have time to turn it around and I think we will."
Burnley visited Oregon State over the weekend and said he had a great time on his trip.
"Oregon State has a great program and I really like the players and coaches," Burnley said. "It's a real family atmosphere there and I had a good time. The facilities are great, I loved the practice fields and weight room and the game atmosphere was really nice too. Everyone is wearing orange and going crazy the whole game."
Burnley said there was only one negative about the visit.
"It was real cold," Burnley said. "I was cold the whole time and being a California boy, I'm not used to that. If Oregon State is the right school for me though, I'll be able to adjust it, it's not going to be a deal breaker for me."
Burnley will next trip to Washington State November 9 and Fresno State January 10.
"I'm also planning to visit Washington and I'm still hearing from USC although they haven't offered me yet. I've been a Trojan fan my whole life so I'm willing to wait and see if they offer before I make any decisions. They still call every week and say they're interested so I'm willing to hold out."
