Beavs offer San Diego QB

ONE OF THE more highly sought quarterbacks in the country for the class of 2009 is San Diego's Tate Forcier, who already holds 20 offers. Oregon State was one of the schools to recently put a full ride on the table and Forcier had some things to say about the Beavs, including his interest level in OSU as well as some intriguing black and orange connections.

San Diego (Calif.) Scripps Ranch quarterback Tate Forcier impressive February continues to get better, with three more schools throwing their hats into the ring with scholarship offers.

Oregon State, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech are the latest schools to offer Forcier.

Forcier talked about each offer.

On Oregon State:
"I talked to Coach Langsdorf and he said their staff is very excited that I have interest in Oregon State. He said they've got their offer ready for me and they want me to come to a Spring Practice. I know several players at Oregon State which is a positive because I will know guys when I go out there. Oregon State had some great wins last year, especially against Cal and I plan to take a visit up to the Beavers stadium."

Notes: Forcier finished the 2007 season leading San Diego in all-purpose yards and was a First Team all-League pick and all-San Diego County selection. He rushed for 733 yards on 66 attempts and had six touchdowns. He passed for 2,387 yards and 21 touchdowns with only five picks, for a 77% passer rating (164-for-213), which led San Diego County.

On Texas A&M:
"I talked to Coach Malone of Texas A&M and the first thing he says is "Tate, my man, pack your bags kid, we've got your jersey ready." Right then and there I got extremely excited. Texas A&M is going to be one heck of a team with Coach (Mike) Sherman. I know he won NFC championships on the Packers and I find that very impressive. Their fans are also very dedicated which is very attractive to me as well."

On Virginia Tech:
"Coach O'Cain talked to me today and said that they're looking for a quarterback that can run and throw. They have two kids on scholarship as of now and he would love to get me out there for a visit. I've heard Virginia Tech has a beautiful campus and I'm anxious to get out there."
