OSU Football Youth Clinic set for this month

ONE OF THE lesser known community service events the Oregon State football program is involved in will be held one week from Saturday. On March 15, the Beavers will team up with the Boys and Girls Club of Corvallis for the 3rd Annual OSU Football Youth Clinic. Hundreds of kids from the area are expected to attend.

One of the nice things about the event is that the entire team gets involved -- the OSU players and coaches run the kids through football drills and skills, the kids get to hang out with the Beavs and also get to experience a little of what it's like to be a Beaver out on the field.

The OSU Football Youth Clinic is free, and will be held Saturday, March 15th, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Reser Stadium and Truax Indoor Facility.

The event is open to 3rd - 8th grade boys and girls and participants should be warm indoor/outdoor clothes, and football or gym type shoes.

Oregon State will find out this month if Sammie Stroughter will be granted a medical redshirt and be eligible for the 2008 season. An electric receiver and return man for the Beavs in an All-American campaign in '06, Stroughter suffered a kidney injury last season and played in only three early games this past season.
