Two more Beavers on watch lists

OREGON STATE OFFENSIVE LINEMEN Andy Levitre and Jeremy Perry have been selected to 2008 Outland Trophy watch list. The award has been presented since 1946 to the top college interior lineman on either offense or defense.

Perry is a preseason candidate for the award for the third time. The 6-2, 334-pound guard from Hau'ula, Hawai'i is not participating in spring practice while rehabilitating from knee surgery.

Perry played sparingly last season after breaking his leg in the season opener, but was a 2006 Pac-10 First Team honoree and 2005 Pac-10 Co-Freshman of the Year.

The Outland Trophy announcement will be Dec. 11 in Orlando, Fla., during the ESPNU Home Depot College Football Awards Show. The Trophy presentation banquet, sponsored by the Greater Omaha Sports Committee, will be Jan. 15, 2009 in Omaha, Neb.

Levitre, a 6-3 324-pound tackle from Ben Lomand, Calif., has started 26 games in his Beaver career, including 22 straight. Due to injuries on the offensive line this spring, Levitre has been working out at guard as well as his normal tackle position.

He was a 2007 Pac-10 Conference Second Team selection and also made the league's academic team for the third straight year.

Levitre and Perry join cornerback Brandon Hughes as preseason candidates for national honors. Hughes was earlier named to the Lott Trophy watch list.
