Sam Cheatham Talks About His Visit To Oregon St

San Leandro (Calif.) wide receiver Sam Cheatham took his second official visit of the year to Oregon State this past weekend to see two of his top teams match-up as the Beavers took on the Oregon Ducks.

"The trip really opened up my eyes a lot," Cheatham said. "I've been to Oregon State twice in the past year already. I camped there and then attended a game earlier in the year but the visit was a lot better and I learned so much more about the school.

"I really had a great time with the players on the team. They're a great group of guys and were very cool to hang out with. I saw a lot more of the campus then I had seen before and met with the academic advisers. I'm most likely going to be majoring in Engineering so I talked to some teachers in that department.

"Overall, I had a great time, the game itself was unbelievable. The fans were going crazy, throwing tortillas and cheese on to the field. I never found out what the symbolism of that was but it was fun just being in such a great environment."

Despite the Beavers convincing win over the Ducks, Oregon still sits at the top spot for Cheatham.

"Yeah Oregon is still my top school," Cheatham said. "Of all the schools in my top five, they're the only one that hasn't offered yet but I still really like them. They told one of my coaches that they just want to see some senior film and then they'll most likely offer me.

"Colorado is probably No. 2 on my list. I really enjoyed my visit there last week. After that, I would say Kansas State and Oregon State are right behind and I'm going to visit Northwestern too. I don't have dates set up with Northwestern and Kansas State yet but they'll probably both be in January."
