Brandon Mebane Still Likes OSU

Brandon Mebane, a 6-1, 260 pound defensive lineman from Los Angeles (Calif.) Crenshaw had a great time on his official visit to Oregon but is still planning to take the rest of his trips.

"I had a good time on my trip," Mebane said. "We ate a lot, I met with the academic advisers, took a tour of the campus and checked out the football facilities which are really nice. Everything is so new and top of the line.

"Terrence Whitehead (former HS teammate) was my host and I got along really well with the players and coaches. Terrence likes it there and has nothing but good things to say about the school.

"It was different from Cal in terms of the lifestyle. Cal was a little more fast paced and Oregon is slower, almost like the country. Both appeal to me, I don't really favor one over the other right now. I can see myself playing at either school."

Mebane will trip to Washington next weekend and is still considering a handful of schools for his last two trips.

"I like both USC and UCLA plus Oregon State, Arizona and UNLV," Mebane said. "I set up a trip next weekend to UCLA but I have to move it because I didn't realize I already had a trip to Washington set."

Mebane said he has heard the rumors of a possible coaching change at UCLA but said he'd be willing to wait to see who the new coach is, if there is one, before moving on with the rest of his recruitment.
