The helmet belonged to Oregon State defensive lineman Bob Jeremiah. He wore it in the 1967 Beavers' upset of No. 1 USC. Jeremiah, who made a key fourth quarter tackle for loss in the win, received the game ball from Dee Andros. The next day, Jeremiah left Corvallis to begin military service for the Vietnam War.
