2008 RETRO GAME 4: USC at Oregon State

OREGON STATE's slow start was decidedly put in the rearview mirror in the fourth week of the season, as the Beavers were hitting on all cylinders against USC from the jump. The OSU offensive line was particularly strong in the early going and Jacquizz Rodgers went over the century mark in rushing yards before halftime. Still, the matter was in doubt until some late game heroics by Greg Laybourn.

Sept. 25 | No. 1 USC | W, 27-21

SHORT RECAP: USC was deemed unbeatable heading in but Oregon State put on a first half clinic against the lauded Trojans in what was called at the time the defining game of the '08 college football season. Jacquizz Rodgers gained 113 yards rushing in the first half and the Beaver d-line led by Victor Butler and Stephen Paea won battle after battle in the trenches. USC stormed back in the second half but Greg Laybourn's interception sealed the win and the Beaver Nation turned delirious.

KEY STAT: 186 - The number of yards Jacquizz Rodgers had behind an outstanding performance by the offensive line.
