2008 RETRO GAME 11: Oregon State at Arizona

A DEFENSIVE BATTLE ROYALE in the desert also saw Sean Canfield have perhaps his finest half of football. A gut wrenching thriller, as there were sub plots and anxious moments galore. And in the final analysis the road victory also came at a heavy cost, as Jacquizz Rodgers was lost for the remainder of the season early on in the win over Arizona.

SHORT RECAP: In a gut wrenching thriller, Sean Canfield was golden. Backed up on his own 20-yard line with 1:19 left and down 17-16, the Beaver quarterback engineered a game winning drive that allowed Justin Kahut the chance to atone for an extra point miss. It was a titanic defensive battle, as Jacquizz Rodgers was lost for the year in the first quarter. Sammie Stroughter was the big play man for the Beavs as they overcame hurdle after hurdle and left Arizona stunned in their own house.

KEY STAT: 2 of 2 - Justin Kahut made both of his field goal attempts.
