JUCO corner Black leaning

CONROY BLACK, a junior college cornerback with some size to him at 6-1 and 185-pounds, verbally committed to Oregon State back in November but decided soon afterwards that he wanted to take some other visits. Since then, his recruiting has changed up a bit.

Black was at one time an OSU verbal commit, then a soft verbal to the Beavs, and now it looks like he might be headed elsewhere.

"I've also taken visits to SMU and to Utah. I was committed to Oregon State. And I'm not sure right now, I don't want to tell you differently, but I am kind of leaning towards Utah right now, I'm liking Utah," said Black.

Black, who visited Utah in December, would have 3-to-play-2 once he receives his AA degree from Fullerton.

"Oregon State, I've kind of had a couple issues with my classes to where it hasn't really worked out with the school yet so I've got to check on that," said Black. "I'm just very interested in (Utah) right now...I think I can go in there and play a big part in the upcoming season."

Black has received offers this recruiting season in addition to the Beavs from Utah, San Jose State and SMU.

"I talked to each of them recently, in the past week, and Colorado has been on me pretty hard," said Black. "I don't graduate until May so I'm looking for a school that is going to wait for me to finish my classes here at Fullerton."
