Terrell Thomas Could Decide In Early January

Terrell Thomas, a 6-0, 180 pound defensive back from Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) has had a top two of USC and Washington State most of this recruiting season. Thomas visited Pullman last weekend and said he felt very good when then head coach Mike Price announced to the team he would not be interviewing for the UCLA job.

"Then just two days later, I heard Coach Price was leaving for Alabama and I couldn't believe it," Thomas said. "I never even knew he was a candidate or had interest in that job. He gathered the team and the recruits together and said he never wanted to leave Washington State.

"At first, I was upset about it but I was glad they decided to retain Coach Doba since he's the defensive coordinator. But then Coach Ball, my position coach, left for Alabama too so right now, I'm leaning pretty heavily to USC.

"I trip to USC on January 10 and if things go well, there's a chance I could commit on my visit. I still have a trip to Boise State for (Jan. 17) and I could also trip to Washington sometime in January. I'm just going to play things out right now and I want to wait until after my trip to USC to see if I'll need to take any other visits."
