TWO-DEEPS: All but official

THE OFFICIAL TWO deeps will be released shortly, but in the meantime, after watching fall camp, here is a quick look at how BF.C thinks the starters and backups will shake out heading into the tilt with Portland State.



Sean Canfield (6-4, 214 Sr.) - Shown increased accuracy in fall camp, ready to "be the man."

Ryan Katz (6-1, 205 RsFr.) - Grown well in Riley's system, could step in adequately if needed.


Running back

Jacquizz Rodgers (5-7, 191 So.) - Faster and stronger. Shoulder looks fully healed.

Jovan Stevenson (5-11, 184 Fr.) - Great athleticism and good pass option out of the backfield.


Left Tackle

Michael Philipp (6-3, 313 Fr.) - Tremendous size and athletic, still learning, but improving daily.

Collin Kelly (6-4, 284 RsFr.) - Smart and a big body.  Room for improvement, but solid as a back-up.


Left Guard

Grant Johnson (6-3, 278 So.) - Moved from tackle to guard in favor of Philipp, versatile and athletic.

Ryan Pohl (6-3, 284 Jr.) - Lost his job to Johnson, but has experience if called upon.



Alex Linnenkohl (6-2, 297 Jr.) - A brick in the middle with a mean streak. Leader of the o-line.

Ryan Pohl (6-3, 284 Jr.) - New to the position, a jack of all trades should fill in well.


Right Guard

Gregg Peat (6-3, 295 Sr.) - Only Senior on the line, great hands and feet, poised for a break-out season.

Michael Lamb (6-3, 285 So.) - Non-stop motor, aggressive, hard worker.


Right Tackle

Mike Remmers (6-4, 299 So.) - Protecting Canfield's blind side, good feet, ready for break-out season.

Burke Ellis (6-4, 268 So.) - Undersized for a tackle, but athletic.


Slot Receiver

Casey Kjos (6-2, 205 Jr.) - Great hands, precision routes, reliable.

Jordan Bishop (6-3, 199 RsFr.) - Most athletic receiver, ability to make any catch, high top end speed.



James Rodgers (5-7, 185 Jr.) - Lightning quick, great strength, vastly improved in route running.

Markus Wheaton (6-1, 175 Fr.) - Athletic, fast, good football sense, still young OR Aaron Nichols (6'0" 186 Jr.) - Undersized, but solid hands, disciplined route runner.


Split End

Damola Adeniji (6-3, 213 Sr.) - Ability to go up high, reliable hands, big body in red zone.

Geno Munoz (6-0, 192 RsFr.) - Best route runner, smart, finds holes in zones well, reliable hands.


Tight Ends

Howard Croom (6-3, 240 Sr.) - Solid in passing game, good hands, not the quickest off the line.

Brady Camp (6-3, 259 Jr.) - Best blocker, reliable hands, big body.



John Reese (6-3, 240 Sr.) - Most athletic in the group, great pass option.

Joe Halahuni (6-2, 249 So.) - Tremendous growth from last season, great goal line blocker, good hands.



Left Defensive End

Ben Terry (6-2, 242 Sr.) - Fast, athletic, flows to football well, hard to block.

Gabe Miller (6-3, 239 Jr.) - Natural, quick, good pass rusher, needs to work on run support.


Defensive Tackle

Stephen Paea (6-1, 285 Jr.) - Incredible strength and quickness, in line for All-Conference honors.

Sioeli Nau (6-2, 309 Sr.) - Takes up space, what he lacks in speed, he makes up for with strength.


Defensive Tackle

Latu Moala (6-1, 285 Sr.) - Strong, quick, takes up space.

Castro Masaniai (6-2, 296 RsFr.) - Most improved, strong, plays very fast for size.


Right Defensive End

Kevin Frahm (6-2 259 So.) - Beast off the edge, strong, never slows down.

Matt LaGrone (6-6, 256 RsJr.) - Big body, quick, natural with tremendous upside.


SAM 'Backer

Keaton Kristick (6-3, 230 Sr.) - Anchor of the defense, leader, fast, athletic.

Keo Camat (6-2, 226 Jr.) - Good athleticism, runs well to the football, aggressive.


MIK 'Backer

David Pa'aluhi III (5-11, 233 So.) - Tremendous athleticism and speed, strong, aggressive, force in the middle.

Walker Vave (6-2, 240 Jr.) - Big body, not tremendously athletic, loves contact.


WIL 'Backer

Dwight Roberson (6-0, 231 Jr.) - Athletic, good nose for football, aggressive, great run stopper.

Keith Pankey (6-0, 222 Jr.) - Quick, great in pass coverage, very fast.


Left Corner

James Dockery (6-1, 180 Jr.) - Vocal, athletic, good instincts and knowledge of the game.

Patrick Henderson (5-10, 187 Sr.) - Athletic, undersized but aggressive, ready to make impact in final season.


Strong Safety

Suaesi Tuimaunei (6-1, 207 Jr.) - Solid in pass and run, good break on football, fast to the ball.

Cameron Collins (6-2, 220 So.) - Big, athletic, needs to work on reading quarterback and anticipating.


Free Safety

Lance Mitchell (6-2, 205 So.) - Very athletic, great closing speed, natural at the position.

Anthony Watkins (6-1, 211 RsFr.) - Young, but big, aggressive, good nose for football.


Right Corner

Tim Clark (6-0, 180 Sr.) - Vocal leader of secondary, athletic, lock down corner.

Brandon Hardin (6-2, 210 So.) - Safety size, corner speed, strong, progressing very well at corner.




Johnny Hekker (6-5, 220 So.) - Big leg, more consistent, great hang time, great asset to have.

Ryan Allen (6-1, 205 RsFr.) - Improving, would fill in well if needed.


Field Goal Kicker

Justin Kahut (5-8, 176 So.) - Strong leg, needs to be more consistent.

Matt Barker (6-1, 181 So.) - Struggles past 30 yards, big leg. Will handle kick off duties primarily.


Kick Returners

James Rodgers - One of the most dangerous returners in the Pac-10.

Patrick Henderson - Does a great job of running north.


Punt Returners

James Rodgers - Can he pick up where Sammie Stroughter left off?

Taylor Kavanaugh - Not going to break a big one, but has very reliable hands.
