NFL BEAVS WEEK 2: Ochocinco makes the leap

WR CHAD OCHOCINCO does the Lambeau Leap as the Bengals knock off Green Bay. LB Keith Ellison tops the double digit mark again, while S Sabby Piscitelli picks off a pass and recovers a fumble.

S Al Afalava | Chicago Bears

WK2:  In his second game starting at strong safety for the Bears, Afalava recorded four solo tackles in a 17-14 victory against the Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers.

WK1: In his first career start tallied four tackles, all solo, one sack and one pass deflection during a 21-15 loss at Green Bay.

QB Derek Anderson | Cleveland Browns

WK2:  Continued to be the backup to first string Browns quarterback Brady Quinn, who lost his second straight start, this time a 27-6 blowout to the Denver Broncos.

WK1: Looked on from the sideline as new Browns starting quarterback Brady Quinn took snaps with the first string offense in their game against the Minnesota Vikings.

LB Nick Barnett | Green Bay Packers

WK2:  Finished with three solo tackles in a week two loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Since returning from ACL surgery last year, Barnett has been rotating with AJ Hawk and Brandon Chillar at inside linebacker.

WK1: As the starting inside linebacker for the Pack, Barnett, a seven year pro, was able to record three tackles, one being a solo.

C Kyle DeVan | Indianapolis Colts

WK1:  Played during the Colts 27-23 win over Miami.

WK1:  DeVan appears destined to back up former Pro Bowl center Jeff Saturday for the duration of the season. After being signed as an undrafted free agent by the Washington Redskins before the 2008 season, DeVan bounced around a bit from the NFL to the Canadian Football League, first with the New York Jets, then the Boise Burn (of CFL) and finally finding a home with the Colts.

DT Dwan Edwards | Baltimore Ravens

WK2:  Played in a 31-26 victory over the San Diego Chargers, but did not record any statistics.

WK1:  Recorded two solo tackles in a victory over the Kansas City Chiefs this week. The six year pro is second on the depth chart behind former Pro Bowler Trevor Pryce.

LB Keith Ellison | Buffalo Bills

WK2:  Tallied his second straight double digit day with 10 stops, five solo and five assisted, in a 33-20 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

WK1:  Ellison, a four year pro and current starting weakside linebacker for the Bills, recorded 16 tackles on a Monday night loss to the Patriots, with 11 of his tackles being solo, and one for a loss.

WR Mike Hass | Seattle Seahawks

WK1-2:  On the Seahawks practice squad for the second straight year.

WR TJ Houshmanzadeh | Seattle Seahawks

WK2:  Housh's statistics were a tad better than in week one, reeling in four receptions for 62 yards, but his looks took a huge hit once starting quarterback Matt Hasselbeck went down with a rib injury.

WK1:  Houshmanzadeh made his much anticipated Seahawks debut on Sunday against the St. Louis Rams. The nine year pro reeled in six receptions for 48 yards, with a long pass completion of nine yards.

CB Brandon Hughes | San Diego Chargers

OUT FOR SEASON:  Due to a significant knee injury, the expected fourth string cornerback for the Chargers was placed on the injured reserve. San Diego Head Coach Norv Turner commented that Hughes was to miss significant time. It was later confirmed that the former Ronnie Lott Watch List member would miss the entire 09-10 NFL season.

RB Steven Jackson | St. Louis Rams

WK2:  Had a big day on Sunday against an iffy Redskins defense, taking 17 rushes for 104 yards. The six year pro has yet to score a touchdown this year.

WK1: S-Jax was held in check for most of the afternoon by a stingy Seahawks defense, rushing 16 times for 67 yards and averaging just 4.2 yards per carry.

OT Adam Koets | New York Giants

WK2:  Was not active during the Giants 33-31 win over Dallas Sunday evening.

WK1:  Koets is second on the Giants depth chart at the center position, behind Pro Bowler Shaun O' Hara.

CB Gerard Lawson | Cleveland Browns

WK2:  Played, but did not record any stats.

WK1:  Lawson did not play on Sunday against the Vikings, and was third on the depth chart behind former Oregon State and San Jose State cornerback Coye Francies.

OG Andy Levitre | Buffalo Bills

WK2:  Made his second career start for Buffalo on Sunday as helped the offense to 353 total yards in the Bills' 33-20 win over the Buccaneers.

WK1:  Levitre, a second round pick, made his first career start with the Bills on Monday night, holding down the left guard position. The rookie played a key-role in the hopeful last-minute heroics by WR Roscoe Parrish, getting out in front to lead block, but the play came up short of the touchdown necessary.

CB Keenan Lewis | Pittsburgh Steelers

WK2:  Not active during the Steelers 17-14 loss to Chicago.

WK1:  Played, but did not record a stat.  He is third on the depth chart.

QB Matt Moore | Carolina Panthers

WK2:  Did not play in Carolina's 28-20 loss to Atlanta.

WK1:  Moore is the backup to 11 year pro Jake Delhomme, and watched from the sidelines on Sunday as Delhomme delivered four interceptions to a Philadelphia defense.

LB Slade Norris | Oakland Raiders

WK2:  Still on the practice squad.

WK1:  The former Beaver standout was cut by the Raiders on September 5th, then retained by the organization and placed on the practice squad the next day.

WR Chad OchoCinco | Cincinnati Bengals

WK2:  Made true to his word and reeled in a touchdown reception against the Green Bay Packers, then making the "Lambeau Leap" into a group of Bengals fans. The nine year veteran finished the game with nine receptions for 91 yards and one touchdown in a shocking 31-24 victory at Green Bay.

WK1:  The flamboyant nine year veteran was the lone bright spot in an otherwise sputtering Cincinnati offense on Sunday, reeling in five receptions for 89 yards, a team high.

S Sabby Piscitelli | Tampa Bay Buccaneers

WK2:  Making his second straight start, recorded five solo tackles, four combined tackles, intercepted one pass for four yards, and returned a fumble recovery 72 yards in a 33-20 loss to Buffalo.

WK1:  Recorded his first start in a Bucs uniform and brought in 8 solo tackles against the Cowboys. Piscitelli was burned three times by Dallas wideouts en route for touchdowns.

OG Roy Schuening | Oakland Raiders

WK2:  Still on practice squad.

WK1:  Signed to the Raiders practice squad.

LB Victor Strong-Butler | Dallas Cowboys

WK2:  Did not play Sunday night in Dallas' 33-31 loss to the New York Giants.

WK1:  One combined tackle against the Buccaneers.

WR Sammie Stroughter | Tampa Bay Buccaneers

WK2:  Reeled in one pass for 10 yards, but had a Byron Leftwich pass fly through his hands and result in an interception during Tampa Bay's 33-20 loss to Buffalo.

WK1:  Three receptions for 25 yards, longest reception of 13 yards, 8.3 yards per catch. The rookie wideout was a initially a long shot to make the Tampa Bay roster, but managed to land as a backup to seven year pro Antonio Bryant, who had been battling injuries all offseason.
