QB Makes Final Decision

Would it be Oregon State or Tennessee? Ryan Gunderson, the 6-4, 215 pound quarterback from Portland (Ore.) Central Catholic was an early commit to Oregon State but took a visit to Tennessee last weekend and was blown away by it.

"I decided to stick with Oregon State," Gunderson said. "It was a hard decision, easily one of the hardest I've ever had to make. I can't even describe to you how great it was at Tennessee and if I was making the call just for myself, that's where I would be going.

"That's not how I was raised though and I have a lot of other people to think about. My family didn't push me either way but it was important for me to be close to them. I like the idea of leading the in-state team and having my friends and everyone who has supported me through the year be able to take it all in.

"At Tennessee, I know I would have had an opportunity to compete early there and the passion everyone has for football is incredible. It was tough to say no to such an elite program but I just felt like Oregon State was the best fit for me and I'm very relieved with my decision. It was definitely a lot tougher to make the second time around."
