JUST LIKE ANY other season, injuries have taken a toll on the Oregon State football team but all in all, the Beavs are in pretty good shape after five games. Here's the latest on the Orange and Black that are injured plus analysis and impact.

PLAYER:  WR Darrell Catchings

INJURY: High ankle sprain

STATUS: Limited - not running. “He’s not running. I think it’s a long-term deal," said Riley.

IMPACT: The junior has been out for most of the year, playing in just two games. While the effects of Catchings not in the lineup have been felt, it has been lessened considerably by the emergence of Damola Adeniji stepping up. The Beavs may end up deciding to apply for a medical hardship waiver for Catchings at the end of the year. He cannot use the standard redshirt as he has played in two games.

PLAYER:  WR Casey Kjos

INJURY: Back spasms

STATUS: Plagued by injuries, he's back and Riley is hoping he'll stay that way. “He’s solid as a rock,” Riley said. “He worked hard with that back. Hopefully, he’ll stay healthy.”

IMPACT: Missed three weeks due to chornic back issues, but returned strong against Stanford catching two passes for 14 yards. Any negative impact was fairly well minimized as Jordan Bishop and Aaron Nichols filled in ably when Kjos was out.

PLAYER: OT Wilder McAndrews

STATUS: Limited in practice.

IMPACT: No impact so far, though the offensive line has been challenged at times this season.

PLAYER: RB Ryan McCants

INJURY: Knee surgery

STATUS: Practicing with scout team, has been very committed during rehab and should be back for USC contest 10/31. “He had a good week with the scout team,” Riley said. "We'll see this week if he’s ready to step into it. We are getting close to where he’ll be back in the games.”

IMPACT: True freshman Jovan Stevenson has served as Jacquizz Rodgers' backup, with 15 carries for 62 yards in five games.

PLAYER: QB Lyle Moevao

INJURY: Right throwing shoulder

STATUS: Available to play. Almost at 100-percent.

IMPACT: Moevao moved into the backup role against Cincinnati, but has played in just one game, (Arizona), and throwing just one pass.

PLAYER: OT Timi Oshinowo

STATUS: Limited in practice.

IMPACT: Before injuring his knee in the spring he was pegged as the starter at left tackle. Due to his injury he likely won't play in 2009, but could possibly help fill out the two deeps if disaster struck.

PLAYER: OG Gregg Peat

IMPACT: No impact as Peat will be fully healed for USC game.

PLAYER: S Josh LaGrone

INJURY: Knee (torn ACL)

STATUS: Had surgery in late August and is out for the year.

IMPACT: Was playing "outstanding" according to Riley and would have played on special teams and possibly at safety.

PLAYER: DT Brennan Olander

STATUS: Almost fully healed.

IMPACT: Started against Arizona State and Stanford providing a much needed boost on the defensive line.

PLAYER: LB Tony Wilson

STATUS: Wilson is out for the year.

IMPACT: Depth at middle linebacker took a major hit which forced true freshman Rueben Robinson into action -- he has five tackles in five games.
