POLL TRACKER: Beavs jump into both polls

FOLLOWING ITS IMPRESSIVE win on the road at Cal two weekends ago, many in Beaver Nation felt that Oregon State should have been ranked. That was not to be, but after another strong performance, this time in dismantling UW in Reser Stadium, the voters in both the polls took notice and slotted the Beavers in the Top 25. In the BCS Standings, the Beavs also moved up.

For the first time since Week 3, when the Beavs were ranked No. 24 in the USA Today Coaches poll, the Beavers are ranked, checking in at No. 20 in the Associated Press Poll and at No. 20 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

Oregon State also moved up in the BCS standings from No. 23 to No. 19.

Oregon, OSU's final opponent of the year, is No. 11 in the BCS standings as well as in both polls.

Stanford, who Oregon State defeated 28-18 Oct. 10 and who holds an identical 7-3 record, is ranked No. 14 in the AP Poll and No. 17 in the Coaches Poll.

USC, who beat Oregon State and holds an identical record as the Beavs, is ranked No. 22 in the AP and No. 21 in the Coaches'.

For the Beavers to go to their first Rose Bowl since 1965 it has to defeat Washington State and Oregon while Arizona has to lose one of its final three games.

Last year the Men in Black finished the season No. 18 in the AP Poll and No. 19 in the Coaches Poll.
