DEF NOTES: Just 192 yards given up

THE DEFENSE TURNED in a solid performance giving up just 192 yards while holding the Cougs to just 3 of 14 on third down conversions. Plus, Keo Camat grabs his first sack as a Beaver and the prognosis on Brennan Olander doesn't look good.

Defense notes:

  • The defense gave up a season low 192 yards of total offense, 133 via the pass, 4.2 ypc, and 59 yards on the ground, 2.5 ypc, while WSU held the the ball for 24:61.

  • The defense yielded 13 first downs, four via the run, five via the pass and a season high four by penalty.  The Cougars converted just 3 of 14 third downs while converting two of three redzone opportunities.

  • The Beavers added one sack giving them 15 on the year.

  • For the second time this year LB David Pa'alhui led the team in tackles with seven stops, including one for loss.

    Pa'aluhi also added one forced fumble and recovery to go along with a quarterback hurry.

  • S Lance Mitchell notched six tackles giving him 59 on the year tying him with S Cameron Collins as the third leading tackler on the team.

  • LB Keaton Kristick had five tackles giving him a team best 80 this year.

    He also added a half of a tackle for loss giving him a team best seven tackles for loss.

  • LB Keo Camat grabbed his first sack as a Beaver. 

    Camat finished with two tackles.

  • DT Brennan Olander hurt his left knee in the first half and did not return. 

    It is unknown at this point if he will miss the Civil War, but it doesn't look good.

    Olander missed a good chunk of fall camp due to a leg injury and could have reaggrevated his old injury.

  • DE Taylor Henry hurt his leg at the end of the game and was helped off of the field.

    It is unknown if he will miss any time.
