In 2000, the Ducks and Beavs were ranked Nos. 5 and 8 in the nation in the AP poll, respectively.
This year, if there's no further movement between now and next Thursday, the Beavs will enter the game ranked No. 16, 18 (AP, Coaches') while the Ducks are ranked No. 10.
But in 2009, it's clear cut – win and you're Pasadena bound.
In 2000, only one team held that advantage, Oregon. The Beavs still needed help after they beat Oregon 23-13, requiring a UW loss to go to the Rose Bowl, and they didn't get it.
What about the win-loss records? In 2000, the Beavs entered the Civil War at 9-1, (6-1 Pac-10). Oregon also 9-1, (7-0). (Note: The Pac-10 record for the Ducks has been corrected to 7-0)
In 2009, the Beavs stand at 8-3, (6-2) while the Ducks enter with a mark of 9-2, (7-1).
So what's the verdict?
