Bowl | Wed., Dec. 30, 2009
SCENARIO: Oregon State loses the Civil War. Cal beats Washington. USC loses to UCLA. Arizona beats USC. Oregon State, Arizona, Cal and Stanford all own 6-3 records, OSU owns the tiebreaker Cal and Stanford. Arizona and USC have the tiebreaker against Oregon State.
There is also a possibility of going to the Holiday Bowl even if USC wins out. Given the above scenario that would create a four team tie for second place in the Pac-10 and the Holiday Bowl gets to pick who it wants - the tiebreakers don't matter.
The Holiday Bowl committee really likes Oregon State since they have never played in the bowl game before.
OPPONENT: Texas Tech according to Football-Bowl (Pac-10 No. 2 vs. Big 12 No. 3)
