Rose, Las Vegas, Sun or Holiday?

ALL OF BEAVER NATION knows that if the Beavers beat Oregon on Dec. 3 in Eugene, the Men in Black will be spending New Years in Pasadena. But what if -- heaven forbid -- Oregon State loses the Civil War? What bowl game will they play in? Here are the various scenarios..

Rose Bowl | Fri., Jan. 1, 2010
Pasadena, CA | 5 PM, ABC

SCENARIO: There is only way Oregon State will play in the Rose Bowl - they must beat Oregon.

OPPONENT: Ohio State (Big 10 champion vs. Pac-10 champion)

TICKETS: $145; a limited amount will be for salve via the TicketMaster.com and phone on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 8 a.m. PST.

Las Vegas Bowl | Tues., Dec. 22, 2009
Las Vegas, NV | 8 PM, ESPN

SCENARIO: Oregon State loses the Civil War. USC beats both UCLA and Arizona. OSU and USC both have 6-3 records, USC owns the tiebreaker.

OSU and Stanford own 6-3 records, OSU owns the tiebreaker, but since Oregon State played in El Paso last year they are passed over for Stanford in the Sun Bowl dropping the Beavs to the Las Vegas Bowl.

OPPONENT: Utah according to CBS Sports and one of ESPN's writers, another writer predicts BYU as the opponent (Pac-10 No. 4/5 vs. MWC No. 1)

TICKETS: $20-100; available at UNLVTickets.com

Sun Bowl | Thurs., Dec. 31, 2009
El Paso, TX| 12 PM, CBS

SCENARIO: Oregon State loses the Civil War. USC beats both UCLA and Arizona. OSU and USC both have 6-3 records, USC owns the tiebreaker.

OSU and Stanford own 6-3 records, OSU owns the tiebreaker.

Even if this scenario plays out, it is unlikely that the Sun Bowl would take OSU since the Beavers played in El Paso last year.

OPPONENT: Missouri according to CollegeFootballNews (Pac-10 No. 3 vs. Big East or Big 12 or Notre Dame)

TICKETS: $15-150; available on TicketMaster.com

Holiday Bowl | Wed., Dec. 30, 2009
San Diego, CA | 8 PM, ESPN

SCENARIO: Oregon State loses the Civil War. Cal beats Washington. USC loses to UCLA.  Arizona beats USC. Oregon State, Arizona, Cal and Stanford all own 6-3 records, OSU owns the tiebreaker Cal and Stanford.  Arizona and USC have the tiebreaker against Oregon State.

There is also a possibility of going to the Holiday Bowl even if USC wins out. Given the above scenario that would create a four team tie for second place in the Pac-10 and the Holiday Bowl gets to pick who it wants - the tiebreakers don't matter.

The Holiday Bowl committee really likes Oregon State since they have never played in the bowl game before.

OPPONENT: Texas Tech according to Football-Bowl (Pac-10 No. 2 vs. Big 12 No. 3)

TICKETS: $70-85; available on TicketMaster.com
