Nov. 19, 2008 - Oregon 65, Oregon State 38
A DEFENSE THAT couldn't stop big play after big play. Successful halftime adjustments by OSU on D, so key to the Beaver success this season, didn't materialize. And the defense ultimately had few answers for the Oregon attack, Meanwhile the Duck defense made enough plays with their backs up against the wall to win big, 65-38, and deny the Beavs their third consecutive win in the Civil War.
The backbreaker came at the end of the first half, with the Ducks scoring 14 points in a matter or moments to go up by 27 points ... more from BF.com.

Dec. 1, 2007 - Oregon State 38, Oregon 31, 2OT
Freshman wide receiver James Rodgers ran 25 yards around end for the go-ahead touchdown, and the Oregon State defense stuffed No. 18 Oregon on fourth down to preserve a 38-31 victory in double overtime on Saturday.
The two teams matched field goals in the first extra session before Rodgers broke free on the first play of the second overtime. Oregon (8-4, 5-4 Pac-10) was faced with fourth-and-1 from the 16 when it got its chance to answer, but tailback Jonathan Stewart was stopped for a loss on a run up the middle ... more from BF.com.

Nov. 21, 2009 - Oregon State 42, Washington State 10
IT DIDN'T UNFOLD quite like the early blowout that was forecast but Oregon State was never seriously threatened and took care of business with a 42-10 win over Washington State. And truth be told, a win where the Beavs weren't always razor sharp might have been the best thing for Oregon State headed into what could be a Civil War for a Rose Bowl berth.
The Beavs kept up their end of the bargain, and if the Ducks beat Arizona tonight, the Civil War will be, for the victor, a spot in the Rose Bowl ... more from BF.com.
Nov. 21, 2009 - Oregon 44, Arizona 41, 2OT
It’s hard to call what happen a miracle because if you listen and believe what Oregon Ducks players and coaches say, coming back in overtime is something that is a result of attention to detail and finishing. Oregon pulled out a 44-41 win over Arizona to cinch at least a share of the Pac-10 Championship and with a win over Oregon State next week – a trip to the Rose Bowl.
“It was a whole team effort that we put together,” observed Jeff Maehl. “Being down 10 points in the fourth quarter and coming back and them scoring so quick like that, and for us to put a drive together at the end, it just shows the true character of our team.” ... more from the e-Duck.com.
Series history (Oregon leads 56-46-10, 25-23-3 in Eugene).
Oregon and Oregon State have met 112 times with OSU winning the first matchup 16-0 in 1894. Oregon leads the series 56-46-10, including 25-23-3 in Eugene.
The teams have split the last five matchups. Oregon has not defeated Oregon State in back to back years since the 1996/1997 seasons.
Oregon State has a one game winning streak in Eugene. The win in 2007 was the first time the visiting team won since 1996. The last time OSU defeated the Ducks in Autzen twice in a row was in 1969 and 1971 - at the end of the Beavers longest winning streak (8) versus the Ducks.
The Civil War game in 1983 has the ... honor ... of being the last Football Bowl Subdivision game to end in a scoreless tie. Among the many “highlights” were four missed field goals, 11 fumbles and five interceptions.
The winner of the 113th Civil War will know that it has clinched the Pac-10 title and a berth to the Rose Bowl when the clock shows 0:00. It’s the first time that both teams have entered the game with the “winner take all” scenario.
The Beavers entered the 1957 season finale 6-1 in the league, while the Ducks were 5-2 – Oregon won that game 20-0 to share the title, but the Beavers knew that they were out of the Rose Bowl going in, due to a no-repeat clause – OSU played in the ’57 Rose Bowl (’56 season).
With 113 games, the Civil War’s is not the most contested rivalry in the nation, but it’s close. The Civil War is the longest running rivalry on the west coast and the seventh longest in the nation.
Here is a closer look (games through the end of this season); Minnesota vs. Wisconsin (119), Kansas vs. Missouri (118), Nebraska vs. Kansas (116), Texas vs. Texas A&M (116), Miami (OH) vs. Cincinnati (114), North Carolina vs. Virginia (114) and Auburn vs. Georgia (113).
