BY THE NUMBERS: Las Vegas Bowl

HOW GOOD WAS the Pac-10 this season? There are six teams from the conference that finished the regular season with eight or more wins -- that's never happened before. That's just one of the news and notes in this numerically driven piece with the Las Vegas Bowl -- a matchup of two Top 20 teams -- now just hours away..

3 - The number of Mountain West team's in top 25 polls (TCU, BYU and Utah).

5 - The number of consecutive times the Las Vegas Bowl has been sold out.

6 - The number of teams in the Pac-10 that have finished the season with eight ore more wins. A conference first. (Oregon 10-2, Arizona, California, Oregon State, Stanford and USC all finished at 8-4).

6.8 - If it weren’t for Damian Williams’ (USC) 63-yard punt return, OSU would be among the national leader for punt coverage. As it is the, the Beavers are allowing 6.8 yards per return on just 12 attempts. Take away Williams’ return, OSU is allowing 1.6 yards – which would rank second in the nation.

7 - The number of Pac-10 teams playing in a bowl game.

7 - Oregon State hasn’t allowed a point in a bowl game in the last seven quarters, dating back to Maryland’s 14-point outburst in the first quarter of the 2007 Emerald Bowl – the Beavers shut out Pitt 3-0 in last year’s Sun Bowl. BYU hasn’t been held scoreless since a 3-0 loss to Utah Nov. 22, 2003.

7 - Since the 2002 season, Oregon State is tied for first in the Pac-10 for the number of times a player has reached the 1,000-yard rushing plateau
with seven (missing only 2004). California also has seven, followed by Oregon (6), USC (4), UCLA (2), Stanford (2), Washington (2), Arizona, Arizona State and Washington State with one each.

8 - Oregon State has lost just eight turnovers this season, the fewest in the nation. The Beavers are also tied with Cincinnati for the fewest fumbles lost in the nation with two.

14 - The final ranking of BYU in the BCS standings.

34 - The number of points the Beaver defense has yielded in the first quarter this year. It is the fewest amount in the Pac-10.

41 - The number of married football players on the BYU football team.

151 - The number of career PATs BYU junior kicker Mitch Payne has made - a Mountain West record.

.473 - The third-down percentage conversion of the OSU football team, good for second in the Pac-10 and 15th in the nation.

499 - The number of football victories in the Oregon State football program.  A victory in the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas would be Oregon State’s 500th in the history of the program.

618 - The number of career touches Jacquizz Rodgers has without a fumble.

.700 - The Pac-10's winning percentage (21-9) against non-conference foes this season.

.750 - Oregon State's fourth down conversion percentage (9 of 12) which leads the Pac-10 and is third in the nation.

.963 - The Beavers lead the nation for redzone scoring percentage at 96.3 percent. OSU has scored on 52 of 54 attempts, 39 via touchdowns and 13 via field goals.

5,033 - The number of yards the Beavers have racked up this season - just the sixth time in school history the team has topped the 5,000 yard mark in a season.

12,000 - The number of tickets each school received.
