OSU RECORD WATCH: Rodgers brothers, Canfield

SEAN CANFIELD, Jacquizz Rodgers and James Rodgers all have a shot at breaking or improving on what are already impressive and recording breaking seasons. Here is what to watch for numbers-wise Tuesday night in the Las Vegas Bowl.

  • Is on pace to shatter the OSU record for completion percentage for a season. The left-hander has completed 69.9 percent (284-406) of his attempts – the season record is by Erik Wilhelm in 1988 at 65.2 (275-422) percent.

  • Is fourth all-time at OSU with 5,802 passing yards

  • Is fourth for touchdown passes with 38

  • Is fourth for single season passing yards (3,103) and needs 211 to move into third

  • Canfield is the Pac-10 leader for passing yards per game at 258.6 — the last Beaver to lead the conference for passing is current Cleveland Brown Derek Anderson in 2004 at 301.2 yards.

  • The Sean Canfield to James Rodgers career touchdown connection (10) is good for fourth all time.

 

  • Is fifth for single season rushing yards (1,377) and needs 109 to move into fourth and 169 to move into third.

  • Is on record pace for the most points for a season by a Beaver — currently held by Steven Jackson in 2003 with 132. “Quizz” has 126 heading into the bowl game.

  • His 31 career tocuhdowns is good for fourth most in school history. He needs eight to move into third past Yvenson Bernard.

  • His 21 total touchdowns are tied for third in the nation with Donald Buckram of UTEP, trailing only the 26 by Toby Gerhart of Stanford and 23 by Ricky Dobbs of Navy (as of Dec. 7).

  • Is already fourth in career rushing yards at OSU with 2,630 yards. He needs 995 yards to move into third past Steven Jackson

  • Is the new school record holder for single season rushing touchdowns with 20

  • Is third on OSU’s single season all-purpose yards list. Quizz needs 130 against BYU to move into second on the list

  • Quizz's 14 career 100-yard games is the fourth most in school history. he needs six 100-yard games to move into second.

 

  • Is averaging 184.4 yards per game for all-purpose yards (Rec, PR, KR) which ranks first in the Pac-10 and fifth in the nation.

  • Is the new school record holder for single season all-purpose yards with 2,213

  • Notched a school record 303 all-purpose yards in the season finale at Oregon.

  • Leads the Pac-10 for receptions per game at 7.2 and for receiving yards per game at 83.7

  • His nine touchdown receptions this year is good for fourth on the single season list. He needs two to move into second and three to tie James Newson at 12.

  • Is second at OSU for single season receptions with 87 – three short of Mike Hass’ 2005 total.

  • His 157 career receptions is good for fourth all-time. He needs eight to move into third past Sammie Stroughter.

  • The last time a player led the Pac-10 for all-purpose yards, receptions per game and receiving yards per game was Bobby Wade of Arizona in 2002 – prior to that Gyn Milburn of Stanford in 1990 and Vincent White of the Cardinal in 1982.

  • The Sean Canfield to James Rodgers career touchdown connection (10) is good for fourth all time.
