Beavs accept CBI bid, play Wednesday

OREGON STATE IS looking for some more postseason hoops magic. The Beavs have accepted a CBI bid and will enter the 16-team tournament as the defending champion. OSU captured the 2009 CBI title with a dramatic best-of-three series win over UTEP.

Oregon State enters the tournament at 14-17, finishing Pac-10 play in a fifth-place tie with an 8-10 mark. Boston University is 19-13 and feature four players averaging in double figures, led by junior John Holland at 19.0 points per game.

The winner of the OSU-Boston U. game meets the winner of the Morehead State-Colorado State game in the quarterfinals on Monday, March 22, time and site to be determined. The full bracket is here.

Students will be admitted free and can now begin picking up tickets. For others, tickets for the first round are now on sale. The price will be $25 for a chairback and $15 for a bench seat. Season ticket holders will have until 5 p.m. on Monday to reserve their current season-ticket location.
