Paea named to Lott Trophy Watch List

BEAVER DEFENSIVE TACKLE Stephen Paea has been named to the 2010 Lott Trophy Watch List. The award is given to a player who exhibits the same characteristics Ronnie Lott embodied during his career: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.

OSU's Stephen Paea, the co-recipient of the Morris Trophy as the outstanding defensive lineman in the Pac-10 last season, is a 6-1, 311-pound senior from Los Altos, Calif. who came to Oregon State as a sophomore in Mike Riley's 2008 class. He had no other Pac-10 offers.

The 2010 All-America candidate has 19.5 career tackles-for-loss and was a first team all Pac-10 selection in '09.

Paea participated in "Learning Through Listening", a program that studies Native American issues in Oregon, and has also been involved in several community service events such as working with the Boys and Girls Club.

The winner, announced in December, receives $25,000 for his school's general scholarship fund. Three runnerups each receive $5,000.
