The Top Lineman in Oregon?

At last year's Nike Camp in Eugene (Ore.), there wasn't a more impressive lineman on either side of the ball than Banks' (Ore.) Cole Linehan. With close family ties to a certain Northwest school, we don't expect Linehan to go too far from home for college.

Linehan, 6-4, 255 pounds had a monster showing at the Nike Camp and was dominant in the one on one drills. In fact, we were actually shocked to learn he was just a rising junior at the time as there wasn't a player at the camp who could handle him.

He tested very well running a 5.2 in the 40 and a 4.64 in the shuttle. He does need to gain size and strength but has the frame to do so.

On the field this past season, Linehan earned 1st team All-State honors on the offensive line and 3rd team All-State on the defensive line.

"I prefer defense, that's where I want to play in college," Linehan said.

Most of the Pac 10 plus Colorado and Michigan are showing early interest.

"Oregon State is my leader right now," Linehan said. "My mom went there, my older brother (Josh) plays there now and that's the school I grew up following as a kid. Oregon, Arizona State and USC are the others on my short list."

Linehan is carrying a 3.0 GPA and will attend the Nike Camp in Eugene this June.
