Meet the new coach: Jim Gilstrap

We wrap-up our introductions of the new coaching staff, for now, with offensive line coach Jim Gilstrap.

Jim Gilstrap joined Riley in 1997 and 1998 as the Beavers offensive line coach and assistant head coach.

The coach did not follow Riley to the NFL in 1999, but moved to McMinnville where he served as an assistant football coach and assistant athletic director at Linfield College.

After a one-year stint in at Linfield, Gilstrap moved east where he served as the Tulsa offensive coordinator and running backs coach for two seasons.

Following his two seasons in the state of Oklahoma, Gilstrap accepted the offensive coordinator, quarterback, and wide receiver coaching positions at Southwest Mississippi Community College for the 2002 football season.

Gilstrap rejoins Riley’s staff as the Beavers 2003 offensive line coach.

Riley’s comments: "Jim Gilstrap has been with me for many years. Jim has expertise in many areas of football, and of course that includes a great deal of experience on the offensive line. He did an outstanding job of putting together an offensive line the last time we were together at Oregon State. I am really glad he has returned. He also has done a great job of recruiting in California in the area from Sacramento to Bakersfield."
