2010 PREVIEW: Boise State

BRONCO STADIUM HASN'T seen many home losses in recent years, and the last two meetings in Boise between the Broncs and Beavers have resulted in blowout losses for the men in black. The word on the Broncos is that their 2010 team may be the most talented OSU has faced yet. In our series breaking down the competition, BF.C turns the spotlight on Boise State.

 The Word on the Broncos

Locating a weakness in Boise is tough with ALL of the returning starters back from a team that had few to begin with. The Broncos are near the top of the nation in every single offensive and defensive team statistic... NationalChamps.net

The Broncos are considered national title contenders because of the returning talent from their 14-0 team. They played with good intensity in spring ball and were so good on defense that quarterback Kellen Moore, a Heisman Trophy candidate, often had trouble moving the first-team offense. In two scrimmages, Moore produced just three points.... FOX Sports

Quarterback Kellen Moore has All-America potential after last year's ridiculous 39-TD, three-interception performance, and he's surrounded by plenty of firepower, most notably running back Jeremy Avery and receivers Titus Young and Austin Pettis. Perhaps even more impressive is that Boise State is not just a collection of aerial acrobats any longer. The defense allowed only 17.1 points per game and made a pretty potent TCU team look rotten in the bowl... Athlon

There's loaded, and then there's what Boise State has coming back. All-star, NFL-caliber corner Kyle Wilson is gone, but everyone else on the defensive two-deep is back … EVERYONE. Kellen Moore is back to lead an offense that gets all 11 starters back and ten of the second-teamers, placekicker/punter Kyle Brotzman is back, and the recruiting class is just good enough to provide a bit more help. Just hand the Broncos the WAC title right now... CollegeFootballNews

Last year's Boise St team had just 11 returning starters and this year the team returns almost intact with 21 starters plus both specialists returning. The only loss is CB Kyle Wilson. This is the best Boise St team ever and I expect them to garner numerous preseason 1st place votes in the AP poll... Phil Steele

They're going to start in the top five, which means if they win all their games, they will most likely play for the national championship. It's all about September when Boise plays the Hokies and Beavers. Win those two and the Broncos won't lose again in the soft WAC... CBS Sports

Moore struggled a bit during spring practice. Does that mean the Broncos are overrated? Absolutely not. Few defenses have been able to stop Moore. If Boise State's can, that's great news for the Broncos, who probably will begin this season ranked high enough to bust the BCS title game if they go undefeated...Sports Illustrated
