Enjoyed Trip to Eugene

Defensive end Koa Ka'ai, 6-4, 250, 4.8, Honolulu (HI) Kamehameha Secondary, traveled to Eugene, Oregon last weekend to make an official visit to the University of Oregon. Ka'ai, is a 3-star rated player with 13 written offers. Oregon was his first visit and the where do the Ducks stand in the recruiting race?

"I had a great trip," Koa Ka'ai said on Thursday night. "It was a lot of fun."

Ka'ai indicated that he was very impressed with the facility. He also pointed out he really likes Head Coach Chip Kelly, Defensive Line Coach Jerry Azzinaro and Offensive Line Coach Steve Greatwood, in fact he likes the whole staff.

While he did not make a commitment to Oregon, Ka'ai admits that Oregon along with Nebraska are his two top teams presently. There are some other schools in the mix but he has not yet set up any other visits.

"I'm going to visit Nebraska for sure," Koa said. "I want to take all five visits before I make a commitment."

During his trip to Eugene, Ka'ai was hosted by fellow Hawaiian Wade Keliikipi. This was the first time Ka'ai and Keliikipi met, even though Ka'ai had heard of the Oregon defensive lineman before.

Oregon has offered Ka'ai along with Nebraska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Stanford, Texas Tech, Washington, Washington State and Wyoming.
