Ducks Take 28-24 Lead into Halftime

Tempe -- At 3:36 left in the second quarter Arizona State was leading Oregon 24-14. Just under two minutes later the Ducks took the lead 28-14 in an exciting Pac-10 opener for both teams.

Oregon sophomore quarterback Darron Thomas threw for 133 of his total 155 yards in the two scoring drives that put the Ducks back into the lead. Hitting Jeffery Maehl on a 12-yard strike then on the next possession the ball in from 4-yards out to take the lead.

For much of the first half ASU quarterback Steven Threet terrorized the Ducks with pinpoint passing, bolstered by a strong running game. Threat had a total of 232 yards and two touchdowns to Mike Willie and Kerry Taylor. Deantre Lewis rushed for 67 yards and a score while Cameron Marshall added 66 yards more.

Oregon was lead in rushing by LaMichael James' 60 yards including a touchdown run of 40 yards.

D.J. Davis had five catches for 54 yards and David Paulson had one catch for 61 yards.

ASU's Thomas Webber kicked a 39-yard field goal to complete the scoring.
