Oregon-Stanford Game Switched to 5 PM Start

EUGENE – Kickoff for Saturday's Oregon-Stanford football game in Eugene has been amended to start at 5 p.m. PDT to accommodate an ABC/ESPN2 national telecast. In addition ESPN has announced the return of its College GameDay pregame show to the University of Oregon campus.

The nation's premier college football pre-game program will be making its fifth Eugene appearance this weekend, with the details and location of the production to be announced.

Saturday's live TV show, presented by The Home Depot, features Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard and Erin Andrews, and has been expanded to three hours. The national airing of the show now begins at 6 a.m. on ESPNU, followed by the final two hours on ESPN.

The general public and students are encouraged to take part in Saturday's production.

Saturday's game, which originally was scheduled to kickoff at 8:15 p.m., will feature a battle between two unbeaten top-10 teams (Associated Press poll) in Autzen Stadium for the first time since last season's Oregon-USC matchup won by the Ducks, 47-20. Oregon, 4-0, moved up to fourth in both the AP and the USA Today coaches poll following Saturday's 42-31 win at Arizona State, while the Cardinal (4-0) climbed into the AP top 10 for the first time this year (9th) after its 37-14 win at Notre Dame.
